Only 1 more month to the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2. The power-ups from the previous game are set to return except the Ice Flower, and BRAND NEW power-ups have been announced for SMG2. Let's take a look...

1. Rock Mario

The first new power-up shown in the game. Mario can turn into this form when he touches a Rock Mushroom. By shaking the Wii Remote, Mario will transform into a giant boulder. In this form, Mario can roll around and jump, damaging enemies and big red crystals with items inside them. If Mario touchs certain enemies or another type of crystal, he will revert to his rock form, but can be turned back into a giant boulder if the player shakes the Wii Remote.

Rock Mario kinda reminds me of Katamari though. ROLL!

2. Cloud Mario

After grabbing a Cloud Flower, Mario can create a cloud by spinning and can use it as a platform. However, Mario can only do this three times or he'll need to grab another Cloud Flower to refill the number of clouds he has.

3. Drill Mario!?

Not sure if this is a power-up, but...

Mario can pick up drills and drill directly through planets and dirt. When standing on a spherical planet, the player can use the drill to go through the surface to the other side by shaking the Wii Remote. The drill might also uncover hidden inside areas of planets that are otherwise unaccessible.
