Kick-Ass
May 30, 2010
Forgive me for the lateness of this review, I'm pretty sure the movie's not playing in the cinemas anymore but I only got the chance to watch it recently D:
Matthew Vaughn? Wasn't he the guy who directed 2007's Stardust? I loved that movie! Well he's back as director for another movie based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.'s comic of the same name. But does it live up to the hype? Click "Read More!" for the full review.
THE PROS: This movie is awesome, it's everything you can ever have from a superhero action flick. The plot's really good, the movie is action-packed, especially the end (save for one scene, that almost made me cry) Personally, I really like the acting, especially Chloë Moretz's, who plays child costumed vigilante Hit-Girl in the movie. The movie's humorous too, making it one of the best action comedy in a while.
THE CONS: This movie ain't for the light-hearted. There is quite a few scenes in the movie which are considered quite violent, especially those which involves Hit-Girl killing the crap out of a group of goons. Foul-language can be heard throughout and some "sensitive" scenes are present in the movie. Definitely not a family movie.
SUMMARY:
"With no powers comes no responsibilities"
With the movie independently financed by Vaughn himself, he was able to use this freedom to successfully blend action, comedy and violence all into one ridiculously entertaining film.
Simply put, this movie kicks ass!
