Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
July 04, 2009
I finally managed to watch the latest Transformers movie today in the cinemas (It was really hard to get tickets) and I'll have to say the movie has its pros and cons. Click "Read More!" for the full review.
The pros: Two things, the special effects and the robots. What the movie mostly shows now is the close-up on each robot, which depicts the details on the Bots. Nice details = GOOD. As for the special effects, the loud explosions and the awesome robot transformation process quite sums it up.
The cons: The robots (again), unoriginal, and oddity: The choice of robots for this movie is just bad. The twins, Mudflap and Skids, are just the most annoying characters in the movie, and their screen time is actually quite long compared to others (the robot doctor, Ratchet, from the last movie was seen in this movie, but for only a few times, and his name was never mentioned at all!) The fight scenes are all quite similar compared to the last film (Both movies had fights in a desert) and there's one question that I don't understand: how is it possible for the Autobots which consists of less than 20 plus the army battle against the mighty Decepticons which has over 30 of them!
Overall, this movie is just as fun as the last film for the fanboys, but if you're the type of person who watched the first movie over and over again (I didin't do that) I'll recommend giving this a miss.
65/100
Note: For those who are wondering who's my favourite bot in the movie, it has to be the almighty Devastator, which consists of several Decepticons.
