The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾

October 29, 2009

Just finished reading the book today, and it happens to be the first book I finished afrer PMR :P

The story is about a teenager (named Adrian Mole in the story) who faces worries (such as his parents' relationship) and regrets of a teenager and believes himself to be an intellectual. It is set in the year 1981-1982 and I like the references made in the story such as the Falklands War and the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. The story is written in a diary style which I quite like. I'll give this book 9/10 for its good writing and hilarious humour.

Apparently, this "Adrian Mole" is actually a series, the final book being published a few years ago.

In chronological order
The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾
The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole
The True Confessions of Adrian Albert Mole
Adrian Mole and the Small Amphibians
Adrian Mole: The Wilderness Years
Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years and
Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction

Better start hunting down those books, I'm itching to continue reading the story.
