As the year 2009 comes to an end, this year marks the year the DS got its fair share of good games, so it's time we take a look at the top 5 DS Games this year.

*These games are ranked based on my opinion only, please do not flame me by saying "Why isn't this game here?" or "This game's crap, it shouldn't be here"

5. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

This is a no-brainer, if you are a fan of Kingdom Hearts you will want to pick this game up. The story is a “midquel” centering on the daily life of the main character Roxas, exploring the time from Roxas' creation during the first game, to his confrontation with Riku during the interval after Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and leading directly into Kingdom Hearts II. It features 3D graphics, and single and multiplayer modes of play which let's you play as members of Organization XIII.

4. Rhythm Heaven

Rhythm Heaven is a rhythm video game for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console. It is the sequel to the Japan-only Game Boy Advance title Rhythm Tengoku. If you can snap your fingers in time to music, you’re ready to play this simple but infectious rhythm game. Just tap your stylus on the touch screen to the beat of the music.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks​ is the fifteenth installment of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series. The game features a cel-shaded art style similar to that of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Spirit Tracks's protagonist, Link, travels across the game's overworld using a cannon-equipped steam train much like the steamboat in Phantom Hourglass. Link is also able to control Phantoms, one of the enemies from Phantom Hourglass, which is possessed by Zelda, and play an instrument called the Spirit Flute.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is the thirteenth game in the Grand Theft Auto series, the fourth released on a Nintendo console. The story follows the character Huang Lee, a member of the Triads, who must deliver his recently-assassinated father's Yu Jian, a supposed family heirloom and sword, to his uncle Wu Lee. Huang is ambushed along the way, and he must not only recover the sword, but avenge his father's death in the process. Instead of a ground-level view behind the protagonist or a top-down perspective, Chinatown Wars uses a fully rotatable isometric camera angled down at the action while keeping the dark, gritty atmosphere of the recent games.

1. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is the third game in the Mario & Luigi series, following Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. As a part of the Mario & Luigi series, the game includes new features such as mini-games and the ability to play as Bowser and use his own unique battle system, which allows players to hold the DS sideways and use the touchscreen and microphone to perform special moves. The game was critically acclaimed, and won three awards from online reviewers.
