Salt

"Who Is Salt?" This question has been in my mind for so long, and after watching the movie, it still is. Click "Read More!" for the full review.
THE PROS:
Wow, we haven't had a spy action thriller for a while, haven't we? CIA officer Evelyn Salt (Played by Angelina Jolie) discovers that (or had she knew already? I'll explain later) she's a Russian spy bent on killing the Russian President, and ends up on the run to uncover her true identity. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the Cold War,
This is an action movie, so how is the action? I'll give that a 9/10. From her escape on the busy highway to the assassination of the Russian President (no spoilers here), Angelina Jolie uses her unique skills to jump, shoot, kick and punch, and it's pretty darn awesome. Plenty of suspense in this movie, where Salt's loyalty is tested towards the CIA or her fellow Russian comrades.
THE CONS:
There's plenty of action, but the plot is so awful. I don't understand it at all. At one time she's a Russian spy helping the evil guys, and at one time she's killing the evil guys, THEN back to helping the evil guys again. The story doesn't explain her sudden change of sides so well...... scratch that, AT ALL. There's only one scene which I think explains it, which is *spoiler*.
Salt 2? The ending suggests so. Hope the plot would've been smoothen out by then.
The action may be good, but at times I end up finding it very tedious. Everywhere she goes, she has to kick, snap, shoot at least a few guys before she's happy. The scenes can be seen as if it's been recycled but Salt with different looks.
SUMMARY:
Salt is actually a really entertaining movie, but I find the shallow plot and the lack of character development doesn't really make this film "great", it's only "better than good" to me.
And the same question will still be unanswered to me.
