Hey, it's the Festival of Light today. I kinda stayed up late last night cause there were loud and massive firecrackers outside which lasted for a WHOLE FREAKIN' HOUR! Glad I managed to get some sleep through the night.

Firstly, Happy Halloween. Halloween's not heavily celebrated in Malaysia, but there's still a lot of Halloween parties filled with a bunch of costume capers. Personally, I never wore a costume for Halloween, but if I got the chance, I'll wear the shirt Simon Pegg wore in Shaun of the Dead.



Imagine how cool it'll be to walk around and people saying "You got red on you" all the time :)

Anyway, what I want to show you is a video which I watched today (it ain't horror, don't worry), and it kinda spooked me.

Well, in the Chinese calender, anyway.

Today's the 15th of the eighth month in our Chinese calender, and that could only be the Mooncake Festival (or Mid-autumn Festival, whichever way you like it)!



I ain't gonna talk about the HISTORY of this festival, cause I'm pretty sure we've all heard it like a BAJILLION times already. But the best part of the Mooncake Festival are the...

I've noticed that quite a few people here does not know what Boxing Day is (it's today!). Here's a quick explanation thanks to Wikipedia:

Boxing Day is a bank holiday or a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Greenland, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, Nigeria and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. In South Africa this public holiday is now known as the Day of Goodwill. Though it is not an official holiday in the United States, the name "Boxing Day" for the day after Christmas has some currency among Americans, particularly those that live near the Canada – United States border.

Frankly speaking, it's a holiday but we people in Malaysia can't have a public holiday. And during Boxing Day shops are now trying to get rid of old "before Christmas" stocks by holding extravagant sales.

Hopefully this little information can help some of those understand more about Boxing Day.
